Our History
In 1986, after the successful completion of the aluminium and glazing project for the Al Wasl Hospital, the owners established a separate aluminium division concentrating primarily on the growing glazed façade market sector. Al Abbar Aluminium was awarded the contract to provide the high security-glazing for the new Diwan (parliament) for the Ruler of Dubai.
Al Abbar Group’s reputation for high-quality manufacturing and installation spread by word of mouth through a network of architects, project consultants and clients, leading to an increased demand for Al Abbar’s services.
In response, specialised divisions were formed which led to the formation of Al Abbar Group – an integrated set of businesses focusing on aluminium curtain walls, coatings, architectural glass and stainless steel. Each of these entities serves as an independent yet interrelated business unit, complementing one another on every project as required.
Through the continuous improvement in the scale and sophistication of various façade solutions, the company grew steadily.

Al Abbar Group has grown to become the largest architectural envelope and glazing contractor in the Middle East and is a leading façade solutions provider for markets around the world. Today, several thousand employees work as part of Al Abbar Group worldwide.
Al Abbar Legacy
1968
Al Abbar Glass and Trading Company was established.
It is owned by a Dubai family, who are still directly involved with the day-to-day operations of the company.
1986
Al Abbar Aluminium was established.
Nominated for the high security-glazing contract for the new Diwan for H.H. the Ruler of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
1991
Al Abbar Tempering Plant was formed.
A leader in the field – providing insulating glass to assist effective thermal and acoustic control of internal building environment.
1994
Al Abbar Investment Co. LLC – formally registered.
Bringing all subsidiaries under one umbrella. Al Abbar Coating was also formed to facilitate in-house powder coating requirements.
1997
Al Abbar Aluminium commences operations.
Its 40,000 sqm purpose-built premise opens in Ras Al Khor Industrial Area using the computer-aided drawing facilities (CAD) for curtain wall design and fabrication.
2000
Al Abbar Stainless Steel Co. was formed.
An in-house stainless steel and steel fabrication facility to ensure a superior quality of finished products for projects.
2002
Al Abbar Architectural Glass (AAG) is formed.
An extension of the Al Abbar Tempering plant came into existence. AAG serves the construction industry as an independent glass-processing company providing expertise in both technical and commercial requirements of the projects.
2003
Al Abbar Aluminium Philippines Inc. in Manila was established.
Providing design and engineering service and support to the Dubai Office.
2004
Al Abbar Group expand production capabilities.
New production facility in Jabel Ali Industrial Area 2, Dubai.
2005
Al Abbar Glass & Aluminium Manama formed.
Al Abbar Group has opened its satellite office in Bahrain to capitalise on its involvement in Kingdom’s iconic Bahrain World Trade Center development.
2008
Al Abbar Metal & Glass Private Limited was established.
Providing design and estimation support to Al Abbar, Dubai. Through Al Abbar Group’s expansion into the Indian construction market, AAMG is now engaged in actively managing the execution of design, supply, and installation of facades.
2011
Al Abbar International Glass & Aluminum Oman office is opened.
In another landmark development for Al Abbar Group – a new regional office is formed in the city of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.
2016
Al Abbar expanded production facility to Dubai Investment Park II
2017
Al Abbar International Trading Est. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was established.
As part of the regional expansion plan and commitment to supporting the GCC construction industry, Al Abbar has set up a branch office in Riyadh to cater for the bespoke building enveloping, interior fit-out requirements of Saudi Arabia.
2018
Al Abbar Group moved its HQ to a brand new location in Jabel Ali Industrial Area 1
The relocation also included the opening of its 20,500 sqm state-of-the-art structural steel fabrication facility.
2019
Al Abbar North America, NY, USA was established.
Part of an exclusive strategic partnership with Tower Holding Group, a worldwide leading developer, construction manager and contractor in New York. Al Abbar North America can now deliver high quality innovative products and services from the UAE to the market of the United States, Canada and Mexico.
