Design & Engineering
Al Abbar Group’s Design and Engineering Team delivers detailed design, Structural & Thermal calculations, Condensation Risk Assessment and Acoustic Analysis required for the full façade engineering. We use state-of-the-art CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies, for delivering high-quality construction documents, shop drawings and 3-D modelling.
Our specialised structural engineers work with the most advanced Modeling and Structural analysis tools for calculating various load combinations and thermal analysis according to Standards primarily in American, BS, New Zealand/Australian Standards and Eurocodes.
The design is based on International Building Codes mainly for safety and legal reasons and such Building Codes determining the mechanical properties of glass and the design procedures of glass panels. Our qualified and experienced engineers, check allowable stresses, displacements & deformations by using mainly Finite Element Analysis to deliver sustainable construction details for the complete building envelope accomplishing the energy efficiency, acoustic and aesthetic requirements.
We combine the power of the latest technologies and with the mastery and experience of our Design & Engineering team to deliver value engineering by seeking design alternatives in line with Architect‘s intends and specifications. To achieve the most economical value; our team looks at all possibilities by reducing material weight and its wastage, simplifying the fabrication and installation process by choosing the most economical and viable methods.
Effective Usage of BIM, CAD, CAE & CAM Solutions
Our engineers and designers collaborate directly with the architectural and façade consultant team to review and assess every variable of a project that can affect the design manufacture and installation process.
In this way we manage the quality, efficiency, site safety, cost and time management factors as required.
Al Abbar Group’s engineering team uses various Autodesk engineering solutions including Inventor, Revit and AutoCAD to develop façade designs. We also create detailed models for fabrication in SOLIDWORKS that can integrate directly with our CNC fabrication machines. TEKLA is used to create accurate, information-rich 3D models that include all required structural elements and data to build and maintain our façade solutions.
These models can be developed to LOD (Level of Detail) 500, the highest level of development possible, allowing them to capture all details required for construction and the long term maintenance of a given building project.
