Insights
The first half of the building height is the Hotel tower up to level 28 and then residential units with balconies having slider frame features.
The Hotel tower up to level 28 makes use of a standard Al Abbar Group unitised façade. External fin features are designed to resist the high wind loads and extreme weather conditions during the Monsoon season in Mumbai.
The Residential Tower façade starts from L29 as a unitised façade with balconies as an integrated part of the unitised system. The Balcony openings are provided without a vertical post to carry glazing requiring special embedment to allow for a 3 sided support for glazing.
Lifting and installation of balcony units were key challenges, especially large corner balconies with assembly sizes of W=6,2m x H= 3,8m and with built in balustrade glazing and slider frame features.
The Podium glazing makes use of bespoke semi-unitised on stick modules with a complex Zig zag layout in plan. These are glazing from the outside and from the ground using mobile cranes and cradles.
